Pneumocandin A0 is a naturally occurring secondary metabolite isolated from fermentation broth of Zalerion arboricola [C. F. Wichmann et al, the Journal of Antibiotics, 168-173 (1989)]. This cyclic lipopeptide may be used as a key intermediate for synthesis of Micafungin Sodium [CAS # 208538-73-2], etc.
WF11899A, known as FR901379, is a naturally occurring secondary metabolite isolated from fermentation broth of Coleophoma empetri F-11899 [T. Iwamoto, et al, the Journal of Antibiotics, 1084-1091 (1994)]. This echinocandin type of cyclic lipopeptide is also used as a key intermediate for synthesis of Micafungin Sodium.
